Dr Riba Kalhar CPsychol, AFBPsS
I have always wanted to help people live a healthy and fulfilled life. I started working in the NHS in 2002. My initial roles were in audit and research and helping people to stop smoking. I recognised the importance of addressing the link between our physical and mental health and qualified as a Health Psychologist in 2011. I became a CBT therapist in 2017 and an EMDR therapist in 2022 and have worked within NHS IAPT mental health services for 7 years.
Over this time I have supported people from all walks of life. I have helped them with a range of problems including depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and managing chronic health conditions, to name but a few. Every person’s experience is unique and I will always try to tailor my approach accordingly, working in an evidence-based way and in line with my professional code of ethics. I consider it a privilege to be able to support people, often when they are at their most vulnerable and will do my best to help in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
